Spanning suburban Adams County and energy-heavy Weld County, CO-08 has been decided in back-to-back elections by a razor-thin margin of just 0.7%. In a district where unaffiliated voters make up the single largest bloc and the major parties are deadlocked, Libertarian voters hold the true balance of power. Dave made history in 1966 when he and powerhouse constitutional lawyer Henry Mark Holzer, challenged the morality and constitutionality of the military draft on 9th Amendment grounds; Taking his defense of individual self-ownership all the way to the Supreme Court. For refusing to be forced into combat during an unconstitutional war, Dave was sentenced to 3 years in federal prison. Ultimately serving 13 months after a judge grants him and other Objectivists pardons. Dave didn't run from injustice, he stood his ground and fought it. A true founding-era Libertarian, Dave was an initial subscriber to Reason magazine in the 1960s, attended the Libertarian Party’s second national convention in 1975, and built a successful 28-year career in technology and internet marketing alongside running local small businesses in Colorado. Dave’s campaign is built on a straightforward commitment to core principles—what he calls “Dave’s Pledge”. He is running to stop Washington’s runaway spending to curb inflation, end foreign nation-building to bring American troops home, and fiercely defend personal freedom from federal overreach.
